Varend Corso Westland: the Floating Flower Parade, a floral flotilla that every first weekend in August sails through the communities of Westland, Midden-Delfland, Schiedam, Vlaardingen, Maassluis, Rijswijk, The Hague and Delft, has reached a new record with 550,000 visitors in 2016.
A vital part of the Floating Flower Parade is its floral arrangement competition. It celebrates the work of Holland’s best floral designers with an emphasis on new design.
You can enjoy the Varend Corso nearly everywhere along the route. More than fifty boats are participating in the show and all these boats are decorated with beautiful flowers and vegetables. Each boat has their own theme. The Varend Corso is one hour guaranteed pleasure.
Hundreds of thousands people are visiting the Varend Corso every year. This weekend is very special for those who enjoy beautiful flowers, planets and vegetables, but it is also for those who love the historical Westlands boats.
