Expoflora

The Expoflora is a unique exhibition of flowers and ornamental plants in Latin America, held annually in Holambra (portmanteau of the words Holland, America and Brazil) to give the welcome to the spring. The event is not characterized as fair, because the goal is not only to sell, but also to show to the public the flowers and ornamental plants grown by more than 400 producers working in Holambra. The former Dutch colony, now a city that, despite having just over 12 thousand inhabitants, is the largest center of cultivation and sale of flowers and ornamental plants in the country and accounts for about 50% of industry sales. Producers enjoy exposure to launch new varieties of flowers and plants, dictate trends in landscaping and decoration and to assess consumer acceptance.
